TTi Bluebonnets Take Home Awards
August 14th 2018
The WPSL have named the TTi Bluebonnets the Franchise of the Year with Dave Puro Coach of the Year for 2018.
Dave Puro, who joined from Manchester City FC shortly after lifting the FA Cup ran out the season as Conference Champions with an 7-1 Record.
"Dave is one of the finest educators, coaching talents, leaders and a football purist at heart. I have continued to say that Dave is likely one of the better coaches in not just the league but the country. His ability to communicate and get a group of players to play so fluidly is testament to his knowledge. This was echoed in a pass rate average of 378 per match, which is astonishing at this level of football" Said TTi Sporting Director Lee Cullip.
Talent that went unnoticed included Marlyn Campa, who lead the league in scoring, Jessica Brooksby and Amy Yang, the effective quiet midfielder. More-so maybe Bluebonnets Captain Jordan Jackson whom lead the team to back to back conference championships.
"I think its testament to Jordan that she, whilst omitted from praise was first to thank her teammates and the staff" Cullip continued "that is the core of the TTi character. Selfless, ambitious and genuine" Cullip concluded.
The Bluebonnets will certainly return in some form in 2019. The quick history created by the group is a reflection of the environment. In addition the continuing development of the players to the professional level is the goal of the program.
Congratulations to the staff and the players. TTi are very proud of you.
