The Evolution TTi's Development Centers in 2020

January 29th 2020

5 years ago, when TTi began, it did not have a sufficient plan in place for younger players. We had great players, working tirelessly, but their young siblings had no place to go. The seed was planted!

This led to the inception of the TTi Development Center (& Pre Formation, but that is for another article!). Initially it was one class a week for 5-7 Year Olds, which eventually led to to a second and then third day due to popular demand. Eventually the Development Center aligned with TTi’s structure and has been on offer every day (more or less) for the past three years. Along the way we added the camps and clinics into the learning curve for our players.

The best piece for us has watching the players move through the program and be able to go into Pre-Formation unafraid and hungry for the challenge. We have had players graduate out of both programs now!

Expense was important to us, we wanted DC to be popular and affordable to the community. So we priced it accordingly at $109 per month. Mostly though, I was exhausted hearing what young kids could not do……..

Having my own children has given me perspective (the perspective of all perspectives!). I do not want my children tied into activities they may or may not love, but giving them the chance through athletic expression to explore what they enjoy and what they find intrinsic passion for. Only with a base of love, passion and some obsession will they find what they want to do academically and athletically.

I have been constantly told what young players ”cannot do”. I hear it all the time still “5 year olds cannot do that!”, but they Can AND do! I wanted to give them them the opportunity to work specific to physiological movement and to football (and all sports). Our players in DC have become attentive, passionate and mostly inspiring with their 1 v 1 talent (I was once called by a local church league once to tell me player ‘X’ could not come to TTi because they were scoring all the goals each week int he church league - amazing progress!).

After three years, we are going to revert to the classes per week and add external locations around the Houston Metro area. We want to provide more for the community in an easier concept that still allows TTi to develop young players and help in the community.

We are also splitting our classes into 3 groups;

BOOST 2-3 Years, DC I 3-5 Years & DC II 5-7 Years.

We will, as always, begin at home at Regis and POEC. You can click the flyers below to take you to join TTi DC if you are a new member.

Current members will be rolled into this program with billing on March 1st at $199 for the 12 week long class. We will also have camp and clinics available to DC aged players all year long alongside TTi’s older students.

8 Year olds players will graduate into Pre Formation with immediate effect. Our current DC members will roll into this program unless we hear they do not wish too!

We look forward to serving the local Houston community from the grass roots of the game!
