February Camp Passes with Flying Colors!

February 18th 2020

This past weekend saw TTi’s February camp at Presbyterian School in Houston, Texas.

The sessions were based on meaningful possession activities, imatch play and individual ball work a little of a departure from the TTi norm.

“This is what the camp programs are for” said Sporting Director Lee Cullip “to be able to impress the footballing beliefs of TTi where we outline our philosophy based on ‘Define, Develop, Recover & Defend’ and really set out the principles of the game. This camp gave us a unique opportunity to look at the individual skill without pressure. It is a departure from our beliefs that training should always take place in an economical environment. With that said it went particularly well”! Cullip said.

The principles were heavily worked on with the staff working out the responsibilities of the individual player, small groups, the team and yes, the ball. “It is the responsibility of the ball to find space and the players to create the best shapes to play within” Cullip mused.

The calendar is packed for 2020, which will include nine (YES 9!) camps as well as a full Summer of session (8.30am-1.30pm every day). The next TTi Soccer camp during Spring Break of March.

“The addition of the mini camps, which allow 2-3 sessions per day are key for the staff to really help the players in 2020” said TTi Coach, Ed Shone “It gives us a real chance to go through Athletic Development as an important piece of the puzzle too.” Shone said.
