An Update from TTi Soccer

March 22nd 2020

TTi Membership,

I wanted give you an update going into the next couple of weeks.

We are in uncharted waters and I, like everyone else and thinking of my family. Especially being my parents and grandmother are in England and for the first time I am unable to jump on a plane and see them. I am thinking of our staff, players and parents at TTi that are in the same position. It’s a frightening prospect and place we are all in, together.

We tried to keep sessions going, waiting for a mandate either locally or federally. We appreciated those sessions filling up, the kind words and continued support from our membership. At this point, our family has made the decision to stay inside for the next 14 days following the guidelines from the CDC and the WHO. We will make a decision (unless there are major changes) April 3rd, 2020 on the next steps.

As we reel from these strange times I would be remiss not to say, stay on board with us, we need you to help take care of our people.

We will be working to have inclusive and interactive sessions during this period but are also aware that this is the time that may be best spent with family. We will touch base with what we are working towards in the next few days. Football can wait. Even if just for a bit.

Bill Shankly once said, “Football is not just a matter of life and death; it’s much more important than that". It’s not, it’s just one of the finer things in life, the epitome of many people’s lives. I enjoy the ball rolling at Lionel Messi or Carli Lloyd’s foot as much as I do at my own children’s feet. It gives me such wonderful memories of my childhood and my own father who gave me my love for the game and my mother who tolerated it (still, to this day). I hope that you feel the same as parents watching your children at their clubs, schools and TTi.

We are here in the interim time, to assist from afar however we possibly can.

I hope we emerge a better place in our hearts and globally.
