Run Your OWN Race

A friend told me once “Don’t whine about your problems to anyone, 80% of people don’t care and 20% are glad you have them”. Whilst this is a little negative as there are wonderful helpful people out there (as I have been fortunate to find in the last week) I think about it often in terms of players and their journey to whatever is next or after youth soccer for them.

It is about YOU. Your journey is your own, it is the pathway you choose. Comparison is a tool of the negative and you should focus on you getting better (in turn, everyone around you will become better too). I am a strong believer, that consistency, working hard and honestly and being driven is a wonderful starting base. If you add curiosity and love of the game as an umbrella you will have all the success you need.
